To Experience the world beyond

By splitting the fingers you are controlling both hemispheres of the brain.  By separating the thumbs you split the ego.  By concentrating the vision on the tip of the nose the optical nerve directs the brain to a different state of consciousness.  By creating a confined and limited situation the breath transports us to another world.  Or at least to the path where you may start your search.

Sit in Sukhasana (easy pose) with a straight spine.  Split your fingers into a « V » so that the Mercury (little) and Sun (ring) fingers are together and the Jupiter (index) and fullsizeoutput_238bSaturn (middle) fingers are together. The thumbs are spread away from the hand.  The Mudra is held with the base of the hand approximately at the level of your shoulders and the palms facing forward.  The hands and elbows are aligned vertically.  Evenly press the shoulder blades together so that the inside edges are parallel.  Look at the tip of your nose.

Inhale through the nose  in ten equal strokes
(about 2 strokes per second = 5 seconds inhalation)

Exhale through the nose in ten equal strokes
(about 2 strokes per second = 5 seconds for the exhalation)

Practice time is 11-31 minutes

To finish: Inhale, stretch the arms up over the head, hold the breath for 5-10 seconds as you stretch your spine upwards.  Exhale and repeat twice more.

Give yourself plenty of time to Relax and allow yourself to return to « normal » after this Kriya.

There is definitely a technique of the mind.  If the meditative mind can be achieved and used, mankind can bring all the happiness to itself.

Yogi Bhajan.
