Mudrá
The Sanskrit word Mudrá can be translated as ‘gesture’ or ‘attitude’ or a ‘seal’ which creates a « short-cut » in energy flow, intended to link individual pranic force with the Universal Cosmic force. Mudrá are a combination of subtle physical movements which may involve the whole body in a combination of Asana, Pranayama, Bandha and visualisation techniques which alter mood, attitude and perception, deepen awareness and concentration. They require a very subtle awareness and can be seen as a higher practice to awaken the consciousness to Prana, Chakra and Kundalini – hence bestowing major siddhis (psychic powers) to the advanced student.
